It is no secret that Manchester United have been trying to flog Casemiro all summer, like flag and scarf sellers in Germany throughout the European Championship.

Last season part of me felt sad watching him perform as a shadow of his former self – even from 12 months prior. The other part of me was angered by how Erik ten Hag persisted with him in the middle, without any real support, whenever he was fit.

Much of the speculation regarding Casemiro has seen the Brazil veteran linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, but United have yet to receive any offers for the 32-year-old, who is pocketing a hefty wage at Old Trafford.

According to The Guardian, United may need to offload Casemiro before they can bid for Manuel Ugarte at PSG, who is seen as a potential replacement for the former Real Madrid star.

Reports throughout the summer suggest United have pinpointed the Uruguayan as their primary target for the defensive midfield role in Ten Hag’s side.

The Guardian’s report also suggests that a loan deal could be an option, but in an ideal world we’ll sell Casemiro and sign the 23-year-old valued at around €45m.
