Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Bournemouth left-back Adrien Truffert, with the Frenchman emerging as a potential replacement for Luke Shaw.
The 24-year-old has established himself as an important player for Bournemouth since joining the club from Rennes in 2025. His performances in the Premier League have now attracted the attention of Manchester United, who could look to strengthen at left-back in the near future.
According to TEAMtalk, Bournemouth value Truffert at around £60 million, and they are not expected to consider selling him for a significantly lower fee.
The French defender started every Premier League game for Bournemouth last season and contributed one goal and five assists. His defensive work, energy and ability to support attacks have made him an attractive option for United.
Manchester United decided against bringing in another left-back during the summer transfer window, but the position remains an area they could address in the future.
Luke Shaw is now 31, and the club will need to think about finding a long-term successor for the England international.
United had also been interested in Newcastle United defender Lewis Hall, but his new contract has made a potential transfer considerably more difficult.
Truffert could therefore become a more realistic alternative for the Red Devils.
Meanwhile, Manchester United will have to decide whether the £60m asking price represents good value for a player they could see as Shaw’s eventual replacement.
Truffert has already shown he can perform consistently in the Premier League, which would reduce some of the risks of signing a defender from abroad.
His attacking contribution is another plus, and he could bring United greater quality and energy on the left side.
It remains to be seen whether Manchester United will make a formal approach for the Frenchman, but his development at Bournemouth has clearly put him on their radar.
If he continues performing at this level, a move to Old Trafford could become increasingly attractive for both the player and the club.
