Manchester United welcome Brighton to Old Trafford on Saturday aiming for a significant marker: a third consecutive Premier League victory.
Achieving this would be a first under manager Ruben Amorim and would signal genuine progress after a turbulent period. Furthermore, recent wins against Sunderland and arch-rivals Liverpool have significantly boosted confidence.
To secure the three points, however, United must overcome a startlingly poor recent record against the Seagulls. Brighton have won six of the last seven league meetings between the clubs. More alarmingly, they have emerged victorious on each of their last three visits to Old Trafford. Therefore, breaking this Brighton stranglehold is paramount for Amorim’s side.
Ruben Amorim is hopeful of naming a strong side, although late checks are needed on Harry Maguire and Mason Mount after both picked up minor knocks during the week. Influential midfielder Casemiro returns following his suspension last time out. Noussair Mazraoui is also available again, providing options at wing-back.
Lisandro Martínez remains the only significant long-term absentee. Bryan Mbeumo, who won the penalty against Liverpool, has an excellent goal involvement record against Brighton from his Brentford days and will be a key attacking threat.
Manchester United predicted XI: Lammens; De Ligt, Maguire, Shaw; Amad, Casemiro, Fernandes, Dorgu; Mbeumo, Cunha; Šeško.
The Premier League fixture will be played at Old Trafford on Saturday, 25 October 2025, with kick-off scheduled for 5:30 pm BST.
The match will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League, with coverage from 5:00 pm BST.
