Manex Lozano has immersed himself in round-the-clock rehabilitation at Lezama after surgery on 13 February, with his recovery tracking the planned timeline.
As reported by as.com, the Pamplona-born 2007 striker is living and working on site from Monday to Saturday under medical chief Josean Lekue, with only Sunday off.
In less than a month at Racing in Segunda División he made a striking impact, including a much-discussed moment against Barcelona and two goals in five matches. He had earlier hit six in six in the Youth League, showing pace and power while leaping two categories, before an anterior cruciate ligament tear in his right knee halted him.
Formed at CD Oberena then recruited into Athletic’s academy, he feels supported and treated with advanced methods for this injury. He is contracted until 2029, with calm talks under way to extend and protect him as a long-term project.
The process is delicate, especially for under-20 players, so he is keeping total focus on the best recovery. His sole target is to become Athletic’s centre-forward, and he will begin pre-season with Bilbao Athletic to build fitness at home while Terzic gathers reports.
