Racing are holding their breath after Manex Lozano limped out of Friday's session at Los Campos de Sport de El Sardinero, suggesting something serious could be wrong and denting the boost of Juan Carlos Arana's recovery.

According to as.com, the Athletic Club loanee felt sharp pain in his right knee a little over half an hour into training during a three-quarter-pitch game after an awkward landing.

He put his hands to his face as first team physiotherapists ran to help. He immediately left José Alberto López's session and headed for the tunnel to be assessed on the table by doctor Gonzalo Revuelta.

He had suffered a scare in Thursday's workout as well. His condition remains unknown pending further tests.

If he is not fit to face Club Deportivo Mirandés, bottom of the table, on Monday at 20:30 at Los Campos de Sport, it appears Giorgi Guliashvili would again be the option up front. Starting Juan Carlos Arana still seems premature after his injury.
