Serie A side Roma have seen Manu Kone get linked with a host of clubs across the summer transfer window. Interest from Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City has constantly been reported across England and Italy.
The latest suggestion from the British press revolved around the Citizens, who have lost Rodri and could soon lose Nico Gonzalez too.
Corriere dello Sport look at his situation in more detail, reporting that Roma are growing in confidence that he will stay at the Stadio Olimpico. Suitors like Manchester City will have to shell out €55 million to land him but the possibility of that happening now looks low.
Roma did consider Kone’s exit in June, as they had to stay within Financial Fairplay parameters but even then, no one made a formal move – at least from England. Atletico Madrid did make an offer but it was never considered enough to execute Kone’s sale, especially as he had a very impressive World Cup campaign.
Now, Roma are increasingly positive that the player will stay, especially as Manchester City are focused on other, more expensive targets like Enzo Fernandez and Ayoub Bouaddi.
