Manuel Pellegrini set out Real Betis’s team news before Tuesday’s 21:00 visit to Mestalla. According to Superdeporte, the head coach will be without five players.

Those missing are Ez Abde, Giovanni Lo Celso, Morante, Ruibal and former Villarreal player Diego Conde, with Abde a significant loss. Lo Celso has a muscle injury and the medical staff are overseeing his progress, so he remains sidelined.

Morante and Ruibal are not training and will not feature at Mestalla. Conde, injured in pre-season, has begun individual work.

Parrott arrived four days ago, has trained under Pellegrini and is available for selection. The Irishman cost 20 million euros and joined with pre-season completed, integrating well. Pellegrini hopes he can be an important addition, noting his power, finishing instinct and need to adapt to Betis’s attacking patterns.

Assessing Valencia, Pellegrini pointed to their meeting with Celta being played in a fractious atmosphere that was uncomfortable for the hosts, yet he still called them a very good side. He expects a complicated opponent and says Betis must deliver a complete performance to take points.
