Many departures in winter: Bayern coach speaks of „new beginning“

The second half of the season for FC Bayern’s amateurs begins under special circumstances, with numerous players having to be replaced

After a winter phase with numerous departures, the restart for Bayern II „feels a bit like a new beginning“ – as coach Holger Seitz made clear in an interview with the club media

„We have six intensive weeks of preparation behind us, during which all the boys worked very hard and with great motivation. The performances in the test matches were also decent. Nevertheless, it feels a bit like a new beginning after the winter break,“ said Seitz

The change in personnel is clearly noticeable, with several players from the Bayern II squad taking the next step in the winter and leaving the club. Felipe Chavez (1. FC Köln), Grayson Dettoni (SV Darmstadt 98), Javier Fernandez (1. FC Nürnberg), Jussef Nasrawe (SV Ried), Magnus Dalpiaz (AC Milan) and Richard Meier (SpVgg Unterhaching) went on loan. In addition, Adin Licina moved to Juventus and Max Mergner to Vienna First FC on a permanent basis. The only player to return was Mudaser Sadat, who came back to the campus after his loan ended prematurely

Seitz clearly assessed the situation and made no secret of the fact that these changes also represent a challenge. „Of course, it is challenging when such a large part of the team takes the next step,“ explained the coach. At the same time, he sees this as confirmation of the work at the Campus: „At the same time, this once again underlines the excellent work at the Campus – especially with regard to the leagues and clubs in which our players are now taking their next steps. Our clear mission is to prepare young players for men’s soccer, and we have once again fulfilled this with flying colours this winter.“

FC Bayern II faces personnel upheaval

From FC Bayern’s point of view, the focus is less on sporting bloodletting and more on the training mission. The second team acts as a transitional stage into the men’s game – if several talented players leave the club in winter, this is noticeable in the short term in sporting terms, but is part of the strategy in the long term. This is precisely why Seitz speaks of a „new beginning“: new roles are being created, hierarchies are shifting and young players are being given the chance to take on responsibility

In line with this, the club has brought up more young players from the U19s. Deniz Ofli and Maycon Cardozo are moving closer to the team. „Both have done well so far and will now get the opportunity to show themselves and develop further in the second half of the season,“ said Seitz. For FC Bayern, this is the logical consequence: when many places become available, the door opens for the next generation.
