CD Castellón are braced for a high-stakes night at SkyFi Castalia, hosting leaders Racing at 21:00 with the promotion race in full swing. The game is sold out, with only seats released by season-ticket holders available.
Castellón start the round in second, one point off top. According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, a celebratory mood is expected, an aperitif for the nearby Magdalena festivities.
Racing arrive as major contenders after reaching last season’s play-offs and maintaining strong form. They have key absences in attack, including Andrés Martín, Arana and Manex, yet around 500 travelling fans will back them.
Castellón allocated 550 away tickets and Racing received 502 requests.
The bond between the albinegra support and Pablo Hernández’s side has underpinned formidable home form. The head coach has said it is no coincidence, while thanking the fans’ backing.
Castellón have won eight in a row at SkyFi Castalia. The run began with a 2-1 comeback against Málaga, then Real Sociedad B 5-4 and Las Palmas 1-0, followed by Mirandés 3-1, Huesca 4-1, Leganés 2-0, Andorra 2-0 and Dépor 2-0.
All 13,700 season tickets sold out in summer and the club’s subscriber map spans almost the entire province, with holders also across Spain and abroad, including Belgium, France, Italy, Canada and the United Kingdom. A waiting list for next season already counts hundreds, accessible only via the Carnet Albinegre on the club’s website.
