Moreirense beat Santa Clara 1-0 on Saturday in Moreira de Cónegos, with Maracás settling the game late to keep the hosts sixth in Liga Portugal.

Santa Clara threatened early as Vinicius hit the bar with a header and Gabriel Silva saw efforts blocked, but clear chances were scarce before the break.

In the 87th minute, Maracás drilled a right-footed shot from outside the box into the bottom left after Diogo Travassos set him up following a corner.

Set pieces remained Moreirense's best route, with Travassos' deliveries asking questions until the breakthrough.

The visitors registered eight attempts but none on target. The hosts produced three attempts, testing the goalkeeper once.

Five minutes of second half stoppage time were indicated, and Moreirense managed the closing stages without alarm.

Next, Moreirense visit Vitória S.C. Santa Clara host Estoril.
