Marcelo Weigandt prepares Boca return after playing with Lionel Messi

Marcelo Weigandt is preparing to return to Boca Juniors after his loan at Inter Miami, having won MLS alongside Lionel Messi.

According to LaNumer12.com.ar, the right-back has ended his spell in the United States and, after two seasons in Miami, must go back to Boca.

The loan runs until 31 December, though Inter Miami have already confirmed he will not continue. He is due to report to Boca Predio on two January to start pre-season, unless an offer arrives and a new exit is agreed.

Weigandt, known as Chelo, has a contract with Boca until the end of 2027. If he is not in the coaching staff’s plans, the club will need either another loan or a sale.

No transfer bid has yet reached Boca or Inter Miami. A completed sale would have benefited both clubs.
