Marco Baroni sacked by Torino, Roberto D'Aversa appointed

Torino have sacked Marco Baroni and named Roberto D'Aversa as his replacement.
According to L'Équipe, Baroni was dismissed on Monday, a day after the 0-3 loss in Serie A at Genoa.
Baroni was in his first season, having taken over last summer. The club sit 15th, and while his side reached the Coppa Italia quarter-finals, they were tracking for their worst campaign since 2020-2021, when they finished 17th.
D'Aversa has signed a deal until June. He coached Empoli last season and has been out of work since the Tuscan club were relegated to Serie B.
His standout spell came at Parma, where he took charge in 2016 in Serie C and led them back to Serie A two years later.
