When Marco Reus announced that he would depart Borussia Dortmund at the end of last season, there was considerable speculation surrounding where his next destination would be.
With reports linking the 35-year-old to the MLS, the next question would be regarding which team would be fortunate enough to secure his signature.
Nevertheless, LA Galaxy recently announced that they had successfully lured the former German international over to the American West Coast, and Reus has taken little time adapting to life in the MLS.
In his first appearance for the Galaxy, Reus came off the bench to make an instant impact.
With their game against Atlanta United tied at 0-0, Reus assisted Riqui Puig before adding a second to ensure he completed a dream debut for his new side.
With the former Dortmund attacker already endearing himself to the LA Galaxy fans, speaking after the game, Reus commented:
“I’m happy that we found a way to win the game. I was excited all day and was looking forward to this game.”
The 35-year-old then stated that physically, he is around 70-80% match-ready, and with two-and-a-half years remaining on his deal, it would be fair to say that the best is yet to come for Reus in the MLS.
