With his contract renewed, midfielder Marcos Antônio is one of the key players for the remainder of São Paulo's season. In the Paulista Championship, the athlete stood out for his playmaking skills and is expected to be a trump card for Hernán Crespo for the rest of the year.

According to Sofascore statistics, the midfielder is the São Paulo player who most accurately delivers long balls, with 3.7 passes per game. Marcos Antônio also excels in other areas, being the second player in the Tricolor team with the most successful dribbles and passes.

In the current season, Marcos Antônio has made 13 appearances for the Tricolor Paulista, with only one direct goal involvement. Even so, he has taken on a crucial role in the team led by coach Hernán Crespo as an undisputed starter.

Out of the team's ten games in the Paulista Championship, he was among the starting eleven in eight and did not leave the bench in one, against São Bernardo. In the Brasileirão, he played all four games, but only started in two of them.
