Marcos Lamacchia deal faces conflict claims as John Textor backs family option for Vasco SAF | OneFootball

The Flamengo president has alleged a conflict of interest in the talks that could bring Marcos Lamacchia into Vasco’s SAF, due to his family ties to Palmeiras. John Textor has played down the issue, calling it normal.

"Leila has done an incredible job at Palmeiras. I think her family would be a great option for Vasco, although I am not following this closely," he told Coluna Do Fla.

"Vasco deserve a structured SAF and a much better partner than 777," Textor said. "We want a fair, high-level rivalry."

Talks over the sale of Vasco’s SAF are advanced. Almirante Participações, Lamacchia’s company, is acting as a stalking horse bidder, setting a minimum for a court-led auction. The move is being questioned by Flamengo and parts of Palmeiras due to the family link between Marcos, Leila Pereira and José Roberto Lamacchia.

José Roberto Lamacchia, Crefisa’s owner, has already lent R$ 82 million to Vasco and has approved the operation. Marcos Lamacchia has kept a discreet yet active role. "I am waiting for the court to clear the auction so we can transform Vasco," he said.

Textor is no longer in command of Botafogo’s SAF. The Tribunal Arbitral da FGV removed him from day-to-day management in April 2026, and in July the board of directors was dismissed. The case arose from disputes with Eagle Football Holdings in the United States, and the tribunal judged his measures could cause irreparable harm to shareholders.
