Marcus Rashford is expected to depart Manchester United this summer, with Barcelona seen as his most likely landing spot. A new team has joined the race as per latest reports.
The Carrington graduate knows he has no future under Ruben Amorim, and after a six-month loan spell with Aston Villa, he is insistent on joining a foreign team.
The versatile forward has not shied away from professing his desire to join the Catalans, who have stayed away from submitting a concrete offer due to financial reasons.
Bayern Munich are another giant who have been monitoring proceedings with interest, and now Fanatik have revealed that Fenerbahce are also keen on the Englishman.
Former United boss Jose Mourinho is keen on a reunion, having failed to agree a move with Jadon Sancho earlier this window.
The Turkish giants are eager to strengthen their attack, and feel Marcus Rashford would be a great fit. Mourinho is expected to give his former star a call to try and convince him to come to Istanbul.
The only issue here is that Fener are only likely to offer a loan deal, while INEOS want a permanent solution as they look to raise cash for further incomings by selling players on big wages like the 27-year-old.
“Fenerbahçe definitely wants to make reinforcements on the wings after the departure of Tadic and Maximin. First on the agenda was Jadon Sancho, who returned to Manchester United after his long loan spell at Chelsea ended.
“However, the star player seems closer to Juventus. Although the management did not give up on Sancho, they started to look at alternatives. Among Fenerbahçe’s alternative names, the route has turned to Marcus Rashford from Manchester United.
“The Yellow-Navy Blues seem to have a great advantage for this transfer. Fenerbahçe has started making attempts for the star attacker. It was noted that Rashford has not received an official offer from another team yet. The Yellow-Navy Blues’ priority is to add Marcus Rashford to their squad on loan.
“The most important trump card to convince the English player will be his former coach Jose Mourinho. It was reported that the Portuguese coach, who has met privately with almost every player on Fenerbahçe’s list, will also contact Rashford if the negotiations between the clubs progress.”
Rashford’s sale will count as pure profit, due to his homegrown status, which is why INEOS are desperate to sell.
The forward seems hellbent on moving to Barca, and currently, it seems unlikely that he will choose to leave England for Turkey.
