Manchester City are exploring a move for Chelsea winger Pedro Neto after head coach Enzo Maresca identified the Portugal international as one of his preferred attacking targets this summer.

According to The Sun, Maresca is keen to reunite with the 26-year-old after working with him at Chelsea and believes the winger would be an ideal fit for his tactical system. City have reportedly entered the race for Neto as they continue to reshape their squad ahead of the new season.

Chelsea are understood to value Neto at around £70 million and are not actively looking to sell. However, the report claims the London club could consider offers if their valuation is met, particularly after a significant outlay in the transfer market this summer.

Manchester City are not the only club monitoring the Portugal international. AC Milan are also interested and reportedly view Neto as a potential replacement for Rafael Leao should the forward leave San Siro. However, Milan’s ability to pursue a deal is said to depend on generating funds through player sales.

Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal have also been offered the chance to sign Neto through his representatives, but the report suggests a move to the Middle East is unlikely at this stage. The winger is said to prefer remaining in European football, where he can continue competing at the highest level.

Neto is understood to be aware of the interest from both Manchester City and Milan and is reportedly open to either move, although he is content to wait and assess his options as the transfer window develops.

The former Wolverhampton Wanderers winger made 30 starts for Chelsea last season and remains an important member of the squad. While City are exploring the possibility of a deal, any move would likely depend on whether they are prepared to meet Chelsea’s reported asking price.
