Boca Juniors have sealed a deal for Marino Hinestroza, making the Colombian winger their first signing for 2026. According to Sitiboca.com.ar, Atlético Nacional will sell 80% of his rights for five million dollars.
The 23-year-old will travel to Argentina in the coming hours for a medical and to sign a four-year contract. The agreement was unlocked after he agreed to adjust his contractual demands.
Atlético Nacional had recently acquired the remaining stake from MLS side Columbus Crew. With full control secured, the club agreed to sell the majority while retaining 20% of a future transfer, and Hinestroza was excused from training as he pushed for the move.
Claudio Úbeda adds his first reinforcement for a demanding semester, with Boca set for three fronts, the Torneo Apertura, Copa Argentina and Copa Libertadores.
Born in Cali, Hinestroza came through Orsomarso before youth spells at América de Cali and Palmeiras, without a senior debut. He broke through at Mexico’s Pachuca, playing 46 games, scoring two goals and winning the Apertura.
In 2024 he joined Columbus Crew, then moved on to Atlético Nacional where he established himself. He made 45 appearances, scored eight goals and won the Copa Colombia, the Torneo Finalización, the Superliga and a cup double, earning a Colombia call-up and a debut in South American qualifiers.
With Hinestroza confirmed, Boca are now targeting San Lorenzo pair Alexis Cuello and Gastón Hernández. Juan Román Riquelme is preparing an offer worth around eight million dollars for both, with five million for Hernández and about three million for Cuello. Club officials say talks are advancing, and another striker is not ruled out this window.
