Markmann turns down €6m Lazio move from Nordsjaelland

Lazio had agreed a €6m fee plus €2m in add-ons with Nordsjaelland, but defender Noah Markmann has rejected the move.

The clubs had finalised terms and Lazio were arranging his medical and contract signing. Sportitalia reports the 19-year-old refused to join the Biancocelesti, and says his camp sought guarantees over first-team football.

That is not assured at Lazio, particularly if Alessio Romagnoli stays following the failure of his Saudi Arabia transfer.

Markmann is believed to have two other offers and could opt to extend his Nordsjaelland contract. There is interest from Trabzonspor and Premier League sides.

He is a Denmark Under-21 international.
