Nayef Aguerd, 29, will undergo surgery for a pubalgia issue on Thursday, 12 March.

The Olympique de Marseille defender has been troubled by the condition for much of the season.

The problem has become too recurrent and significant, prompting the Morocco international to proceed with surgical treatment.

The objective is for Aguerd to return for the final matches of the Ligue 1 campaign.

The former West Ham United centre-back will want minutes under his belt ahead of this summer’s FIFA World Cup.
