Marseille have set an intense week after their 0-2 defeat at Lorient. Double sessions are planned for Tuesday and Wednesday as they build towards hosting Nice at 20:45 on Sunday.

According to L'Équipe, director of football Medhi Benatia outlined the plan in the dressing room after the loss, telling players to keep the next four weeks clear until the end of the Ligue 1 season.

The idea is to avoid further trips abroad after last week’s training stay in Marbella, Spain.

Having returned on Saturday evening, the squad were back at work on Sunday, with workloads set according to minutes played at Lorient.

From Thursday, the squad will go into a training camp at the club’s La Commanderie training centre through to matchday.
