Marseille no longer targeting Brighton’s Simon Adingra

According to Santi Aouna, Brighton forward Simon Adingra (22) is no longer a target for Marseille during the summer transfer window. The Ivorian forward was considered a back-up option had their pursuit of Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood (22) collapsed.

OM are set to complete a deal to sign the former England U21 international worth €30m, according to David Ornstein. Newly-appointed Marseille head coach has described the forward as ‘world-class’ as he made Greenwood his priority attacking target. Les Olympiens’ main goal source from last season is set to depart the club with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang destined to join Al-Qadisah.

It appeared that Adingra may have been reconnecting with his former head coach during his time at Brighton but the Ligue 1 club have now cooled their interest in the former Nordsjælland attacker. With Marseille now prioritising other moves, fans of the seagulls can rest easy knowing that their former manager is no longer looking to poach one of their main goal threats.
