According to L’Equipe, Olympique de Marseille are poised to receive a substantial sum from the sale of midfielder Cengiz Ünder.
The deal will see the Phocéens pocket a cool €15 million outright, or a combination of €8 million initially and an additional €4 million in potential bonus payments, contingent on various performance-related milestones. Regardless of the specifics, Marseille will undoubtedly make a profit from this transfer as they had acquired Ünder for €8.4 million just a year ago following an initial loan spell.
The former Leicester City man has made 69 appearances in Ligue 1 for the Olympiens, having scored 15 goals and registered seven assists for his side. With the arrivals of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ismaïla Sarr, Ünder’s chances of game time were looking less likely under new coach Marcelino.
The Turkish international is expected to imminently sign for Fernerbahçe in the coming days.
