Lilian Brassier’s (24) move from Stade Brestois to Olympique de Marseille looks as if it is on the verge of being completed after it was reported by Fabrizio Romano that the two clubs had come to a verbal agreement.

There had been some confusion over the deal earlier in the month after Eric Roy announced that while Marseille had spoken to the player they had not contacted the club, but that now looks to have been smoothed over, with the details of the agreement coming to the fore.

Romano writes that Marseille will pay Brest €11 million for the centre-back, in a deal that will be structured as a loan with an obligation to buy. Brest have also included a sell-on clause into the agreement to protect themselves financially if Marseille later decide to sell the defender.

Brassier is expected to soon sign with Marseille on a five-year contract after he rejected multiple other clubs to make the move to La Provence possible.
