Olympique de Marseille are reported to have made an offer to Arsenal in their bid to sign Reiss Nelson (26), according to Foot Mercato.

Still searching for their first signing of the summer and forced to make do with extremely limited resources, the Marseille management are said to have made the forward one of their targets.

On loan at Brentford last season, the London-born player had a difficult campaign, making just 14 appearances and scoring one goal (with two assists) for the Bees. At 26, and after several consecutive loan spells – notably at Fulham and Feyenoord – Nelson may now be open to the idea of finding a long-term home.

However, although Arsenal appear open to letting their player leave, the reigning Premier League champions are reported to have rejected the offer made by the French club. Nelson, whose contract with his youth club expires in 2027, is also said to have been presented with Marseille’s plans and to have received an offer.
