The Olympique de Marseille secured the last spot in the French Cup round of 16 with ease by thrashing Bayeux, a sixth-division team, 9-0 this Tuesday.

Without giving the opponent a chance to breathe, the Marseille team went into halftime leading 4-0, after scoring with Angel Gomes (13′), Hamed Traoré (19′), Mason Greenwood (26′), and Amine Gouiri (32′).

In the second half, the goal shower continued with two more from Greenwood (4′ and 45′), a second from Gouiri (10′), one from Conrad Egan-Riley (35′), and one from Neal Maupay (41′).

Olympique, led by Italian coach Roberto de Zerbi, will face Rennes in the round of 16 at the beginning of February.
