RC Strasbourg Alsace had looked to be closing in on CJ Egan-Riley (22), however, Olympique de Marseille have now joined the race, Foot Mercato understands. There is also interest from West Ham United, whilst Burnley have not given up hope of extending the England youth international’s deal.
Egan-Riley is a major target for Strasbourg and L’Équipe reported last week that talks to bring the defender to the Meinau had intensified. However, there is now increased competition for the defender, whose current deal at Burnley expires this summer.
Marseille are interested in bringing the centre-back to the Vélodrome. Egan-Riley is interested in the move and has asked some of his friends about the city and the club. However, they are yet to submit an offer, unlike Strasbourg and West Ham United, who are bidding to keep the defender in England.
Strengthening the defence is a priority for Roberto De Zerbi this summer. The club look set to welcome RC Lens’ Facundo Medina, however, a further recruit is targeted.
