Marseille are preparing to part ways with Mason Greenwood this summer, with Lazio captain Mattia Zaccagni emerging as a leading candidate to replace him.

Greenwood has been at the Velodrome since 2024 and delivered 26 goals and 11 assists this season. The club is expected to cash in in the upcoming window.

Zaccagni has been linked with Marseille for months, and Il Messaggero believes Greenwood’s expected sale could open the door for the 31-year-old to move to Ligue 1.

The winger has endured his toughest campaign since joining Lazio in 2021, suffering several muscle injuries. He registered only four goals and two assists across 30 appearances.

The newspaper also suggests he could lead a summer exodus at Formello, potentially involving Mario Gila, Alessio Romagnoli and Ivan Provedel, all contracted until June 2027.

Separately, Pedro has announced he will retire at the end of the season. Elseid Hysaj’s departure has been confirmed, with the Albanian set to leave as a free agent, and Toma Basic is expected to follow unless there is a late twist.
