Marseille host Auxerre in Ligue 1 at the Vélodrome on Friday, 13 March 2026, with the hosts chasing Champions League places and the visitors battling to stay clear of the relegation play-offs.
Marseille sit third and Auxerre 16th, and the recent head to head leans the hosts' way with three wins in the last five league meetings. The home side have been far more prolific this season, scoring 52 league goals to Auxerre's 19.
Les Olympiens have taken two league wins on the spin against Lyon and at Toulouse, after a draw with Strasbourg and defeat at Brest. Auxerre are unbeaten in three, drawing with Strasbourg and Lorient either side of an away win at Metz.
Nayef Aguerd and Bilal Nadir are unavailable for the hosts. Auxerre are without Romain Faivre, Oussama El Azzouzi, Lasso Coulibaly and Telli Siwe, while Lassine Sinayoko is suspended. He is their top league scorer with six this season.
Les Phocéens' control game, 58% average possession and 88.67% passing accuracy, could set the platform for Ligue 1's leading scorer Mason Greenwood (15). Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Igor Paixão add end product, while Auxerre, who average 44% possession and deliver plenty of crosses with 19.58% accuracy, may look to supply Danny Namaso or Josué Casimir from wide areas.
A home win would add three points and further cement the Champions League push for Les Olympiens. For Auxerre, an upset could ease play-off pressure and nudge them towards safety.
