Martin Odegaard raised concerns in the Arsenal fanbase earlier this week after suffering an injury as Brentford scored their equaliser on Thursday night.
The Arsenal midfielder swung his leg in an attempt to clear the ball, and his knee crashed into the goalscorer, the same knee he’d injured back in October.
Odegaard missed eight Arsenal games with that knee injury the first time around, but he seems more optimistic he won’t face a long spell out on this occasion.

“I picked up a bit of an injury when they scored their goal, but hopefully it’s not too bad,” Odegaard told Arsenal.
“We’ll see how it goes in the build-up to today’s game and over the next few days. I tried to clear the ball as it came down, but instead kicked into the player a bit, and ended up over-stretching my leg, which pinched the knee.
“I was able to carry on, but on Friday morning it was very sore, so I was worried of course, but thankfully it looks like it’s not too bad.”

Despite the largely positive update, Simon Collings reports that it seems “very unlikely” Odegaard will be in the squad to face Wigan on Sunday.
The hope is that the Arsenal captain won’t be out for long, but less than three days after the Brentford match it would clearly be a risk to include the 27-year-old for the FA Cup fourth round tie.
