Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard was absent from the Gunners’ team walk this morning ahead of their Premier League game against Fulham later today, according to insider Connor Humm.
It is a big blow for Gunners manager Mikel Arteta as the North London club need to win at Emirates Stadium today against the visitors and could do with the Norwegian midfielder.
Odegaard featured for 57 minutes as Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw in the first-leg of their Champions League semi-final tie against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.
The Gunners star went off after 57 minutes after feeling discomfort in his knee, something which has troubled him for most of the season.
While no official news has confirmed that Odegaard will not feature today, he is unlikely to be available having missed the team walk earlier today.
Arsenal are also expected to be without Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber and Arteta will be praying for some good news ahead of the second-leg against Atletico next Tuesday at home.
He needs his best players available for the game as the Gunners eye a spot in the final of the Champions League for the first time since 2006.
A win against Fulham today will be huge as it will take Arsenal six points clear of Manchester City (who have two games in hand) and also put them in a great mood ahead of Tuesday.
They will fancy their chances in Odegaard’s absence and will hope none of their key players picks up any knock ahead of one of their most important games of the season.
