Martinelli left out as Brazil draw with Australia in friendly

Brazil drew 1-1 with Australia this Friday in Melbourne, in the first friendly of the cycle leading up to the 2030 World Cup. Called up for the first time, Martinelli, of Fluminense, did not come off the bench.

Australia opened the scoring in the 22nd minute of the second half, with Irankunda from a free kick. In the final play of the match, Rayan popped up in the box and headed home the equalizer.

Martinelli could still make his debut for the national team during this FIFA international window. Brazil will face Australia again next Tuesday at 7 a.m. (Brasília time) in the second friendly between the teams.

After that, the national team will wrap up this run of fixtures against India on October 3 at 11 a.m.
