He said he had not suggested Galatasaray mishandled negotiations. His point, he added, was that Arsenal could view Al-Hilal’s proposal as roughly 20 million euros above the Turkish offer, comparing 45 million euros with 66 million euros.

On the player, he said Martinelli was not open to a move to Galatasaray, which differed from alleging the club bungled talks. He added that something was lost in translation and that the Arabic summary did not reflect his original English.
