Martinez Gets 7.5, Mings With 7 | Aston Villa Players Rated In Hard-Fought Win Vs RB Salzburg

Aston Villa entertained RB Salzburg at Villa Park earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a win in the UEFA Europa League. The Villans made a slow start to the game and conceded the opening goal in the 33rd minute when Karim Konate found the back of the net. Unai Emery’s men went into the half-time break 1-0 down on the scoreline.
Moussa Yeo doubled his team’s advantage in the 49th minute. However, Morgan Rogers got a goal back for the home side in the 64th minute before Tyrone Mings equalised in the 76th minute. Jamaldeen Jimoh ended up scoring a dramatic winner in the 87th minute as the Villans secured a hard-fought 3-2 win away from home.

Borgarde won a couple of aerial duels and was accurate with his passing.

He dealt with the danger when he could and was tidy with his ball distribution.
CB: Tyrone Mings – 7/10
Mings made a costly error at the back and was a strong presence in the air. He managed to equalise for the Villans in the 76th minute.

LB: Lucas Digne – 6.5/10
He came back to defend when he could and made a few decent chances in the final third.
CM: Amadou Onana – 6.5/10
Onana anchored the midfield with conviction and was good on the ball.
CM: George Hemmings – 6/10
He worked hard but failed to impress in the first half.
RW: Jadon Sancho – 6.5/10
Sancho made some promising runs with the ball but failed to get his name on the scoresheet.
CAM: Harvey Elliott – 6.5/10
He was not shy of having a strike at goal and linked up play well with others around him.
LW: Emi Buendia – 6.5/10
Buendia was a positive influence at both ends of the field and ended the game with an assist to his name.
ST: Ollie Watkins – 6/10
He made a slow start to the game and was replaced in the 34th minute.

He caused a lot of headaches for the Salzburg defenders and did well to score in the 64th minute.
