Massa tradition finds a new home in Belo Horizonte

Some places go beyond the walls that shelter them. They are made of stories, gatherings, memories, and shared passions. That is the case with Bar do Salomão, one of the most traditional meeting spots for the Atlético faithful in Belo Horizonte.

After leaving the property that housed the family for more than seven decades, the black-and-white stronghold began a new chapter in its journey. Now at a new address, in the Serra neighborhood, the venue reopens its doors carrying with it what made it special over the years: the presence of Atlético supporters.

Between tables, conversations, and game broadcasts, Bar do Salomão helped build memories for different generations of fans. Stories of celebrated titles, tense matches, friendships formed, and a shared passion for Clube Atlético Mineiro.

The change of address represents a new chapter for a tradition that has spanned decades and is part of Atlético culture in the capital of Minas Gerais.

“We spent 75 years in my parents’ house. We got a good offer to sell it. I drove by there just now, and the house looks very beautiful, very cozy. And here we are. Let’s go, Galo! Let’s celebrate, the title is here now,” said Salomão, the owner of the venue.

The reopening brought together longtime regulars who made a point of being there for this special moment. One of them was photographer Rogério Carvalho, who highlighted the structure of the new place.

“It turned out wonderful. A spacious venue that will welcome the fans. It’s going to be a party every game.”

Among the stories present at the opening, few symbolize the bond between the place and the fans as well as that of Janaína Aires. A regular at Bar do Salomão for 19 years, she experienced the inauguration alongside her son, who was still in her womb when she started frequenting the traditional Atlético hangout.

“I’ve been coming here for 19 years. When I started coming, my son was still in my belly. Today I’m celebrating this new phase with him already 19 years old. Our soul is Atlético, and we love Bar do Salomão. People should come here to feel this energy, this vibe. Now all that’s missing is Galo’s next match.”

More than a new venue, the reopening represents the continuation of a story built by thousands of Atlético supporters over time. A story that spans generations and keeps the black-and-white passion alive inside and outside the stadiums.

At the end of the night, the feeling was one of gratitude and happiness to see the tradition carry on.
