AC Milan have appointed former tennis player and ex-ATP executive Massimo Calvelli as chief executive, succeeding Giorgio Furlani, who resigned at the end of May.

Coming 10 days after Ruben Amorim was named head coach, the club said in a statement that Calvelli will also keep his roles as international chief executive at RedBird Development Group and operating partner at RedBird Capital Partners.

Calvelli, 51, served as ATP chief executive from 2020 to 2025, having previously worked for Nike and Wilson.

He has been employed by the American group RedBird since last year and had been regularly linked to Milan.

Milan finished fifth last season after spending much of the campaign among the four Champions League qualifiers.
