Matheus Bidu nursing pubic pain, surgery 'being considered' for end of season | OneFootball

Corinthians left-back Matheus Bidu has been managing pubic pain since July, with a possible inguinal hernia and surgery under consideration.

According to ESPN, any operation would be delayed until after the season because recovery is estimated at four to eight weeks, a spell that would cut into the run-in.

The issue dates back to the league meeting with Bahia in late July, when he was omitted from the squad. Since then he has relied on injections and medication to manage the pain.

After the squad returned during the Super Data Fifa window, Bidu skipped the first on-field session, then took part in the next two. On Monday he was absent again, working individually indoors at the training centre.

If confirmed, his would be the fifth inguinal hernia case at Corinthians since last season. Centre-back Gustavo Henrique was diagnosed in May 2025 and missed 72 days. Left-back Hugo followed in July 2025, out for 57 days, and forward Yuri Alberto returned after 28 days in August.

Centre-back João Pedro Tchoca sustained the injury in May this year and needed 100 days before playing again.

This season Bidu has made 45 appearances, with six goals and three assists. Should he be unavailable, Fernando Diniz can call on Fabrizio Angileri and Hugo Farias at left-back.

Corinthians sit 14th in the Brasileirão on 32 points, three clear of Grêmio, who open the relegation zone. They visit Internacional at Beira-Rio on Wednesday 7 October at 19:30 in round 29.
