Manchester United have had to field a heavily rotated attack in the last two games due to injuries.
Benjamin Sesko has been ruled out for a month due to a knee injury he picked up against Tottenham Hotspur before the November international break.
The situation was exacerbated when Matheus Cunha suffered a head injury in training, as a result of which he has missed both the Everton and Crystal Palace games.
The Red Devils have had to follow concussion protocols, as a result of which they have not rushed the Brazilian back into action.
But his situation finally seems to be clearing up, with the former Wolverhampton Wanderers ace rejoining first team training on Monday.
He posted a picture of himself in a great mood during training, captioning the post, “Back, Back, Back.”
The 20-time English league champions have missed his creativity, his energy during transitions, and his ability to keep the ball under pressure.
It was most evident against the Toffees, where Ruben Amorim’s succumbed to a 0-1 loss at Old Trafford despite the visitors going down to 10 men before the 15th minute mark.
Both Joshua Zirkzee and Mason Mount have impressed in the Brazil international‘s absence, especially in the game against Crystal Palace on Sunday.
It will be interesting to see the head coach’s team selection for the game against West Ham United in midweek. It will be a big boost ahead of a couple of potentially winnable fixtures.
Matheus Cunha has scored only once for his new club and will be desperate to return to the pitch to add to that tally.
The 26-year-old joined the Old Trafford side for £62.5 million in the summer transfer window.
