Matt Doherty has left Wolves after his contract expired this summer, with no new deal offered. He becomes a free agent after 389 appearances across 13 years in two spells.
The 34-year-old is the club’s 16th-highest appearance maker. Wolves technical director Matt Jackson said he epitomises Wolverhampton Wanderers, highlighting his leadership, growth and steady voice in the dressing room.
Doherty joined in 2010 and broke through under Kenny Jackett as the club won promotion from League One in 2013/14.
He was a key figure under Nuno Espirito Santo as Wolves returned to the Premier League, recorded two seventh-place finishes, reached the FA Cup semi-final and the Europa League quarter-final.
He departed for Spurs in 2020, then had a short stint with Atletico Madrid before returning to Wolves in 2023.
