Wolves have issued their retained and released list. The club said in a statement that Angel Gomes will return to Marseille rather than join permanently, while Ladislav Krejci’s loan has been converted into a permanent move. Matt Doherty’s previously announced exit has also been ratified.
Gomes joined on loan from Marseille until the end of the season, with a £6million option that will not be taken up.
Krejci’s switch follows a £6million loan fee, with a further £20million now due for the defender. The permanence was contingent on an appearance threshold and he was a key figure last season. Interest from Leeds and other clubs in a summer move remains.
Defender Dexter Lembikisa has departed after nine years at Molineux, having joined aged 13. He made his senior debut in November 2022 and had loans at Rotherham United, Hearts, Yverdon-Sport, Barnsley and Lincoln City.
Early loans impressed but injuries at pivotal moments, including during his time in Switzerland, checked his progress. A fresh start is viewed as the best pathway for all involved, and he leaves with warm praise for his professionalism.
Seven academy players have also moved on, with Ty Barnett, Harvey Griffiths, Arthur Nasta, Bjorn Marwa, David Osifo, Fabian Salmon and Jake Wilcox departing. A new deal has been offered to Conor McLeod. Pathways are being created for young goalkeepers, with Jimmy Storer, Lewys Benjamin and Josh Gracey progressing, and Nasta gaining senior minutes at Hornchurch.
