The Telegraph journalist Matt Law and his Sky Sports counterpart Michael Bridge have both shut down reports making the rounds this morning that Tottenham Hotspur forward Randal Kolo Muani has suffered a hamstring injury and could be out for three weeks.
Spurs insider and ITK (in the know) Szy Excl – a Tottenham account who recently became famous for breaking some major news about the North London side and the latest updates around the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club – claimed this morning that the Frenchman has picked up the injury.
They have proven to be a trusted source concerning all things Spurs, recently breaking some transfer news related to the North London club ahead of the likes of David Ornstein.
However, Law and Football London’s Alasdair Gold have quickly moved to pour cold water on the reports.
Spurs are back in action against Aston Villa on Sunday and it will be interesting to see whether Kolo Muani is involved in action.
He started in the 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday before getting withdrawn ahead of the second-half.
Tottenham cannot afford any more injuries right now with ten first-team stars currently unavailable for selection after various knocks.
Xavi Simons is out of the season after getting stretchered off against Wolves, joining Dejan Kulusevski, Mohammed Kudus, Ben Davies, Wilson Odobert, Cristian Romero, Guglielmo Vicario, Dominic Solanke, Pape Matar Sarr and Destiny Udogie on the injury sidelines.
James Maddison has returned to the squad and was included in the matchday squads against Wolves and Brighton & Hove Albion.
However, he is not fully fit and it remains to be seen whether he will feature against Villa this coming weekend.
Spurs manager Roberto De Zerbi has a huge selection headache on his hands and may need to rely on some youth players in training and matches going forward.
