Matthis Abline to make Monaco squad for OM after foot cut | OneFootball

Matthis Abline will be in Monaco’s squad for Sunday’s home match against OM after recovering from a right foot cut that required stitches, according to L’Équipe.

The forward was hurt in the 0-2 defeat at Coventry on 14 August, an impact that led to stitches.

He missed the first three matches of the season. After struggling to put on his boots on Wednesday, he rejoined group training on Saturday.

Head coach Filipe Luis said Abline has recovered and is available.

Captain Denis Zakaria said Abline is fine and a top player, and that they train at 100 percent against him while staying mindful of the injury.

A starting role appears unlikely, with a substitute appearance more probable.

Luis will be without Takumi Minamino, Mohammed Salisu, Edan Diop who is resuming, Folarin Balogun who is resuming and could be transferred, and the injured Ansu Fati.

He said there is no precise return date for Fati, who is almost fully recovered from the same minor issue that arose in pre-season. The forward still needs to regain peak fitness to rejoin the team, which could take one week, maybe two or three, after missing much of pre-season.
