Aston Villa have a potential injury issue for Nottingham Forest's visit, with Matty Cash uncertain after missing Tuesday's 3-2 Champions League win at Club Brugge.

He was left at home due to muscle discomfort, according to Birmingham Live, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka starting at right-back on his debut. Unai Emery is due to provide an update on Friday.

Forest head to Villa Park on Saturday, three pm kick-off, seeking their first league win after draws with Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur. They have had a clear week to prepare.

Villa were also without Leon Goretzka, Johan Manzambi and Brian Madjo on Tuesday because of injury, although Madjo was not named in their Champions League squad.

Forest hope to have close to a clean bill of health. Ibrahim Sangare, held back against Spurs after a slight knock and limited recent training, worked individually on Sunday and was expected to be fine by Tuesday. He had also missed the trip to Anfield.

Full-back Nicolo Savona remains out with a long-term knee injury but is progressing. Oliver Glasner has said he might rejoin team training during or soon after the upcoming international break.
