Aston Villa right-back Matty Cash has put pen to paper on a new contract that will keep him at Villa Park until 2029, just a day after his standout performance in the 1-0 win over Manchester City.

Cash’s previous deal was set to run until 2027, but his consistent displays and influence in Unai Emery’s side have earned him an early reward.

The Poland international, who joined Villa from Nottingham Forest back in 2020, has become one of the longest-serving members of the squad and a firm favourite among fans.

Since arriving in Birmingham, the energetic full-back has made 193 appearances, bagging 12 goals and providing 11 assists. His hard-working style and attacking intent have made him a crucial part of Villa’s recent rise, which includes their long-awaited return to the Champions League this season.
