Appointed as the US national team manager in September 2024, the 53-year-old Argentine signed a contract that extends beyond the next World Cup on home soil. While he is happy in the United States, he told the BBC he still thinks about English football:

The Premier League is the best league in the world. Of course I miss it. I’m happy in America, but I’m also thinking about coming back to the Premier League one day. It’s the most competitive league.

Pochettino still remembers his time at Tottenham, where he led the team to a Champions League final:

We were so close to the title with Tottenham… it’s something I’d still like to achieve.

He also commented on the departure of Daniel Levy, the long-serving Spurs chairman:

I was very surprised. His legacy remains incredible. He was very important to me because he gave me the chance to coach a club like Tottenham, one of the best clubs in the world with fantastic supporters.
