Max Dowman stars as Arsenal cruise past Ipswich in Carabao Cup | OneFootball

Arsenal booked their place in the Carabao Cup fourth round with a comfortable 4-2 victory over Ipswich Town, with teenage sensation Max Dowman stealing the spotlight.

The 16-year-old made his first start of the season and wasted little time making an impression, opening the scoring after just seven minutes with an excellent individual effort. Dowman exchanged passes with Eberechi Eze before beating two defenders and calmly finding the corner.

Noni Madueke doubled Arsenal’s advantage before the interval, finishing emphatically after Ipswich were caught out at the back.

Dowman added his second shortly after the restart, showing impressive composure to guide Martin Zubimendi’s pass into the far corner. Mikel Merino then made it four with a powerful effort that clipped the inside of the post.

Ipswich managed two late consolation goals through Anis Mehmeti and Chuba Akpom, but Arsenal were never seriously threatened.

The Gunners, who remain unbeaten this season, will discover their fourth-round opponents following Wednesday’s draw.
