The Bavarian club's director of sport was clearly referencing the decision to extend both Manuel Neuer and Sven Ulreich's contracts on Friday.

"We already have Jonas [Urbig] as the second choice goalkeeper, therefore it will be difficult for Alex [to remain] with us.

“I'm sure he will have many options to continue his career at another big club,” Eberl concluded, clearly holding the 29-year-old in high regard.

Since arriving on loan in 2023, the shot-stopper has played over 128 games for VfB Stuttgart across all competitions.
