Maxence Caqueret of Como has been offered to Monaco late in the window, but he is not currently a priority for the Principality club, according to L'Équipe.

Monaco are pursuing a high level midfielder on loan if Lamine Camara, 22, is sold to England. With two days left, the window closes on Tuesday 1 September at 20:00.

Caqueret, 26, played 30 Serie A matches for Como last season.

Pape Matar Sarr, 23, had been among the options considered, but the Senegal international is thought to prefer staying in the Premier League or choosing a bigger club.

Monaco are targeting another midfielder whose identity has not emerged, and Caqueret could come into focus if that pursuit fails as time is short to complete their recruitment.
