Mbangula has returned to Serie A with Bologna, joining from Werder Bremen on a season-long loan for €2m with a €12m option to buy.
According to Football Italia, the deal was completed to allow Jonathan Rowe to finalise his move to Atalanta for around €40m including add-ons.

The Belgian arrived at Juventus’ youth academy in 2020 as a teenager, so he is familiar with Italian football.
He moved to Werder Bremen last summer for €10m plus bonuses, and could stay beyond this season if the option is exercised.
The 22-year-old is primarily a left winger, but he can also play on the right or as a trequartista. He has 23 Serie A appearances, with three goals and four assists.
