Mbappe already looking ahead to playing in the UCL with Real Madrid

After a rather slow start to life at Real Madrid, Kylian Mbappe is seemingly finding his groove as he added another goal to his tally in the win against Real Sociedad last night. After his brace against Real Betis, the Frenchman has three goals to his name in five La Liga appearances.

Mbappe scored the second of the two penalties awarded to the Merengues last night but really impressed with his overall performance as well.

As MARCA has reported, he also spoke to Real Madrid TV after the match, and shared his feelings on this win:

“It was a tough match, but in the end, we won. We played against a great team, but we’re going home with a great victory. We’re improving.”

But instead of dwelling on this game, the Frenchman was already looking ahead to playing his first Champions League match in a Real Madrid jersey on Tuesday:

“With each game, I feel better. I understand what the team, the coach, and my teammates need, and I’m sure that on Tuesday, I can help my team and start the Champions League with a win.”

“It will be very important for me. As I said on the first day, I came to Madrid to experience these kinds of nights. I’m very focused on what we have to do. The Champions League has changed a lot, it’s a new competition, and we have to win to start well.”

The French World Cup winner also opened up on his relationship with Vinicius Junior and talked about the penalty-taking duties at Real Madrid:

“We try to find each other in the match and in training to build that connection. He’s a great player, has done a lot for Madrid, and I’m very happy to play with him at Madrid.

The important thing is that all four penalties were goals, not who takes them. We scored all four, and that’s what matters most.”

As Mbappe himself commented, Vinicius and he himself have scored all the penalties they have taken up to now this season. Thus, they both are proving their credentials to be the main penalty-takers for their team, but hopefully, they will also further improve their chemistry on the pitch to truly terrorize defences with their combined skills.
